All completed projects get put onto this gallery site. Since I keep most 2D work for the art show, this is the only way to see the work until it's returned in the spring. If you can't see your child's work, it is because you have not given permission. Just send me an email and I will set it up.
What are we working on??...
4th Grade - We are working on paper mache desserts a la Wayne Thiebaud.
5th Grade - We are learning how to draw people. The students will be creating self portraits and a figure sculptures that demonstrate what they have learned from Leonardo Da Vinci.
6th Grade - We are working on pop art self portraits.
7th Gra de- Get frames ready...the 7th grade Chuck Close Self Portrait are bing painted!
8th Grade - Our student favorite: the Durer Rhino Project. The kids learn about the surrealist painter Rene Magritte, and then use the ideas behind surrealism to help them creatively fill the shape of Durer's rhino. The challenge is that we don't notice it is a rhino at first because we are drawn to the image inside. The complex shape of the rhino makes this quite a challenge.
How are you graded ? ? It is important to me that you feel free to take risks with your art. I also want you to focus more on what your are trying to do, rather than what grade you will get.
