Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT)
Signed permission forms are required to insure that all students, faculty and parents are aware of the correct procedures for using personal computing devices in school. Permission forms will be available on the District web page, students can pick one up in the Forrestdale Media Center or Main Office. Once the completed form is returned to the Media Center and has Principal approval, the student’s device will be entered into the Library Data System (Athena) and bar-coded. The barcodes will allow staff to easily identify which devices have been authorized. Students can use their devices in the Media Center any time but classroom use will be at the discretion of the teacher. We emphasize that the devices are for educational purposes and should be put away at all other times.
