School Climate Initiative
The Rumson School District is committed to creating and sustaining a positive school climate where all students and staff feel a sense of safety and belonging. This section of the website is dedicated to the work we do as a district to ensure that our school community operates in a safe and positive manner that fosters growth, excitement, and wellbeing in all its stakeholders. School Climate is a broad, multi-faceted concept that involves many aspects of a student's educational experience. Research shows that a positive school climate can benefit academic achievement, test scores, engagement, and positive emotions in both students and staff. This being said, a positive school climate is the product of a school district's attention to fostering safety; promoting a supportive academic, disciplinary, and physical environment; and encouraging and maintaining respectful, trusting and caring relationships throughout the school community. The Rumson School District School Climate Teams created School Climate Strategy Frameworks to meet the unique needs of our students and community.
